Tomasu is a Rotterdam-born pioneer redefining what soy sauce can be. Crafted in small batches on Dutch soil, their approach combines age-old fermentation traditions with fearless experimentation, and the world took notice. Tomasu’s naturally brewed sauces now appear in the kitchens of Michelin-starred restaurants across the globe, praised by chefs for their depth, balance, and story of craftsmanship.

A few years ago, our team at ACE built their first online presence, a site that introduced this remarkable brand to a growing audience. Fast forward to today: Tomasu’s international demand has skyrocketed, and it was time for an evolution. They needed a sharper digital experience that would scale with their ambitions. I led the design direction for the complete Shopify rebuild, developing the new visual identity and working closely with our UX designer to shape intuitive and immersive shopping patterns that stayed true to the brand’s artisanal spirit.

The redesign celebrates Tomasu’s craft through a seamless blend of storytelling and commerce, giving space to photography, films, recipes, and special editions while making every step of the purchase journey smoother. The result is an experience that invites visitors to dive into the world of Tomasu: a place where tradition meets modern design and every detail is fermented to perfection.
